Trivia:
In the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) version of Final Fantasy III, the Sage has relatively higher MP growth than its counterpart in Nintendo DS version. Thus, other jobs like the Warlock, Summoner and Shaman are overshadowed when there is a Sage in the party.
