Trivia:
An ancient goddess defied by the Ugarit, Egyptian, Phoenician and the Israelites, Astarte is the patron deity of fertility, beauty, love and war. In Greek Mythology she was depicted as the goddess Aphrodite whose Roman counterpart is Venus. In the Bible, she goes with the Hebrew name Ashtoreth, a principal deity worshiped by the Sidonians and Phoenicians. In later Jewish traditions, Astarte is considered as the female demon of lust.
