IV - Recruiting Lorelai with Killey
In Gregminster, capital of Toran Republic, Riou and Killey approached an adventurer wandering outside the mansion of the 'Flower General,' Milich Oppenheimer.
Lorelai: "Good afternoon. Oh, you... You're the boy who came to see President Lepant... Riou, right?"
Riou:
A: "Yes... Will you come with us?"
B: "Um, I guess so..."
IV.A - Yes... Will you come with us?
Lorelai: "Come with you...? Join your army? But, I'm..."
Killey showed himself to Lorelai.
Killey: "You're the same as ever, Lorelai. Always thinking of profit... the way to the Sindar will never open to someone like you!"
Lorelai was surprised to see Killey was among them. He was an old rival and ally way back to the war that broke out in the Queendom of Falena.
Lorelai: "You...! Killey!! I thought you went to the Queendom of Falena!!"
Killey: "Oh, I was there, alright... thanks to your 'tip.' And what a tip it was... I didn't find any Sindar ruins, but I did find a squad of police ready to throw me in a stinking cage."
Lorelai: "Hmph. That was pretty foolish. But what can you do about it now? How unfortunate for you."
Killey: "Oh, I wouldn't say that..."
Lorelai was surprised to hear such bold reaction from Killey. In her mind, a question just immediately caught her attention. Does Killey found some leads that will unlock the secrets of Sindar? So without any hesitation she eagerly drew closer to him, hoping that she might squeeze some juicy information out from her old rival.
Lorelai: "What?! Did you find something?!?"
Killey: "And why should I tell you?"
Lorelai: "Because that was MY tip!! MY information..."
Killey: "I'm part of the Allied Army at the moment... One more person won't make a big difference, but we ARE looking for more recruits."
Lorelai: "You... you underhanded...!!"
Killey: "No more than you, Lorelai."
Lorelai: "Fine... but first..."
Lorelai made a thorough observation on Riou. She always test a person's skills, strength and experience before lending her invaluable skills to them.
Lorelai: "Hmmm, not bad... You seem pretty tough, kid. Killey wouldn't join a fool's army. Riou, I'll join your cause. The goddess of victory does indeed seem to be smiling down on you."
Lorelai joined the Allied Army.
IV.B - Um, I guess so...
Lorelai: "Good luck, then. I think it's about time for me to return to my journey, as well."
Nothing happened. Lorelai continues to walk to and fro-- wandering around.
V - Recruting Sigfried with Sierra
In the Forest at the back of Kobold Village, Riou's entourage ventured to speak with the legendary unicorn that once showed to Riou, Hix, Tengaar and some Kobolds. Riou raised the Listening Crystal that was given by the beastmaster Badeaux. This unique rune has a power to hear the voices of beasts nearby. Sigfried reacted to the rune's power and revealed himself to Riou's entourage together with the coven mistress, Sierra.
Sigfried: "Who is that called me... Was it you... maiden......?
Sierra: "A... a maiden? Me...???? Well... Yes... Yes, I am a maid."
Sigfried: "In that case, in the name of the Gods of the Forest, I betroth myself to you......"
Sierra: "Hmmm... What should I do, Riou?"
Riou:
A: "Say yes."
B: "Just say no."

V.A - Say yes.
Sigfried: "Very well... By my ancient oath as a member of the White Circle... I lend my power to you thru the vessel of this holy maiden....."
"....................."
Sigfried was about to join the Allied Army, when he realized Sierra is not a maiden at all. She lived for hundreds of years and even older than him.
Sierra: "What happened...?"
Sigfried: "I apologize... The mistake was mine. Fare thee well..."
Sigfried left in a blink. Sierra felt insulted and gone mad.
Sierra: "What? What the hell did that mean? What a rude creature... Next time we won't let him get away so easily."
V.B - Just say no.
Sierra: "You are right. I do not trust the intentions of this beast..."
Sigfried: "In that case, I will return to the shadows of the forest......"
Sigfried left in a blink.
VI.A - Recruiting Hix and Tengaar with Viktor and Flik
Viktor and Flik who happens to be with Riou's entourage found a familiar faces in Lakewest's inn.
Tengaar: "Huh? Ahhhh!!!!! Mr. Flik! Mr. Viktor! You're ALIVE!? I thought... What happened!?"
Viktor: "Well we just had a little mishap."
Flik: "It's your fault! We were almost killed cause of you!"
Hix: "Mr. Flik! Mr. Viktor! You're alive! I'm so glad..."
Viktor: "Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to make you worry."
Flik: "Hix, are you doing that ritual journey of manhood?"
Hix: "Y... Yes."
Flik: "Oh yeah? Good luck!"
Hix: "Mr. Flik, when will you be coming home to the village?"
Flik: "Huh? M... me? I... Uh..."
Tengaar: "Shh, Hix, don't tease him! Mr. Flik still hasn't completed his own journey to manhood!"
Flik: "................."
Viktor: "Ha ha ha ha ha! That must be embarassing..."
Tengaar: "Well, Hix, let's go. Follow the road to the South to get to Kobold village. Let's not dawdle!"
Tengaar went outside the inn.
Tengaar: "Hey, I'll leave without you."
Hix: "H... Hold on Tengaar!"
Hix rushed outside to cope up with her partner.
Viktor: "They're in quite the rush, eh."
Flik: "They haven't changed a bit."
VI.B - Recruiting Hix and Tengaar with Viktor Alone
Tengaar: "Eh? Is that really you, Mr. Viktor!? You're ALIVE? What happened?"
Viktor: "Well... just a little mishap. But I wouldn't let something like that kill me."
Hix: "Mr. Viktor's still alive... I'm so glad! Did Mr. Flik survive too?"
Viktor: "Yeah, he's still kicking. So what are you guys doing here?"
Tengaar: "Hix is on a quest to be recognized as a warrior by our people. I'm escorting him so he doesn't chicken out."
Viktor: "Hmmmm... Well, good luck with that!"
Tengaar: "Well, Hix, let's go. Follow the road to the South to get to Kobold village. Let's not dawdle!"
Tengaar went outside the inn.
Tengaar: "Hey, I'll leave without you."
Hix: "H... Hold on Tengaar!"
Hix rushed outside to cope up with her partner.
Viktor: "That's what you call 'escort'?"
VI.C - Recruiting Hix and Tengaar with Flik Alone
Tengaar: "Eh? Is that really you, Mr. Flik!? You're ALIVE? What happened?"
Flik: "That Viktor... We were almost killed cause of him."
Hix: "Mr. Flik, you're alive! I'm so glad!"
Flik: "Hey, don't get all mushy on me! More importantly, Hix, are you on your ritual journey of manhood?"
Hix: "Y... yes."
Flik: "Oh yeah? Good luck!"
Hix: "Mr. Flik, when will you be coming home to the village?"
Flik: "Huh? M... me? I... Uh..."
Tengaar: "Shh, Hix, don't tease him! Mr. Flik still hasn't completed his own journey to manhood!"
Flik: "...Gimme a break, okay?"
Tengaar: "Well, Hix, let's go. Follow the road to the South to get to Kobold village. Let's not dawdle!"
Tengaar went outside the inn.
Tengaar: "Hey, I'll leave without you."
Hix: "H... Hold on Tengaar!"
Hix rushed outside to cope up with her partner.
Flik: "They haven't changed a bit."
VII.A - Small Fry
It was the night before retaking Greenhill City from Highland control. Riou met Chaco on the stairways that leads to the 2nd floor of the castle. He was looking on the window as if he's mind is wandering somewhere else.
Chaco: "Hey, it's Riou, isn't it? You're not usually out at night. What is it? Keeping watch? Too worried to sleep maybe?"
Chaco drew closer to him.
Chaco: "Hey, Riou. You're incredible. At first I worried that a small fry like you couldn't protect us. But you've become a great leader, Riou. We know that fighting alongside you means protecting our city. I know it's not easy, Riou, but please, we're all counting on you."

VII.B - Life of Gypsies
After talking to Chaco, Riou met the circus performer trio at the castle's main hall. He found himself eavesdropping unintentionally on their private talk.
Eilie: "Hey, sis..... When this war is over.... I'm going to....."
Rina: "I know, I know. You want to go back to our life of travelling. Gypsies like us can't stay in one spot for long, eh."
Eilie: "Yeah, that's right......"
Bolgan: "It's okay. It's okay."
Eilie: "???"
Bolgan: "Riou could become a gypsy and travel with us too. We'll do the knife-throwing act. We'll all be happy together!"
Eilie got infuriated with what she heard.
Eilie: "Hey!!! Bolgan!!!! What are you saying!!!!"
VII.C - The Might of Kobolds
Riou proceeded to the castle's vault and found the kobold unit under Gengen are busy preparing for the upcoming battle.
Gengen: "Listen up. Tomorrow is big fight!! Me want all of you to show humans what Kobolds are made of!!!"
Gabocha: "Yes, Captain Gengen!!!"
Gengen: "Everybody stay close to Gengen!!! If you get in trouble, Gengen will protect you!!!"
Gabocha: "Captain Gengen....."
Gengen: "Gengen is a great soldier!! Great soldiers take care of themselves!!! Everyone wake up early tomorrow!!!"
Gabocha: "YES SIR!!!"
Everyone scram and returned to their quarters except for Gengen and Gabocha.
Gengen: "Okay, Gengen sleep soon too!!! Gengen protect everybody!!! Go to sleep soon!!!! Protect everybody tomorrow!!!"
VII.D - Tell Me Your Troubles
Riou then visited the tavern which is next to the castle's vault. There he found some of his subordinates taking their time to relax. Most of them are chatting and taking their booze at the same time. He turned to Leona for a short talk, too.
Leona: "Hey, Riou. What is it? We're closed. Ho ho, wait a minute. I'll make you something good. No booze for you though."
Leona left and concocted something special for Riou. After a while...
Leona: "Well how did you like Leona's famous hot lemon tea? Now you'll sleep like a baby."
Riou:
D.1: "I.... I'm so worried......"
D.2: "Thanks a lot."
VII.D.1 - I.... I'm so worried......
Leona: "............... Riou, you've been so strong up to this point.... everybody knows how hard it's been for you. That's why you musn't give up, Riou. But if you're still sad, tell me your troubles. I'll comfort you just a little. I understand how it is. I'll make you feel better..."
VII.D.2 - Thanks a lot.
Leona: "It's hard to live up to everybody's expectations. But it's a good thing to be trusted by so many people. Riou..........."
VII.E - A Son Like Riou
Riou headed to the inn, but it seems that no one's there except the two love birds from Radat Town. He unintenionally overheard their spicy conversation.
Yoshino: "My lord, is there going to be a big battle tomorrow?"
Freed: "Yes, I'm afraid so. But we've been victorious up to this point, and we can win tomorrow too. We've got Lord Riou on our side."
Yoshino: "You're right. When I first saw him, he looked like just a little boy, but look at the great leader he's become."
Freed: "Yes!!!"
Yoshino: "My lord, I hope that we have a strong and healthy son who is just like you."
Freed was surprised.
Freed: "Huh??? Yo, Yo, Yoshino........"
